Department of Social Sciences
FOCUS
The Department of Social Sciences aims to bring students closer to social scientific knowledge, the development of reflective critical thinking and the strengthening of citizenship skills; through interpretive and analytical exercise of reality, which allows them to contribute to the construction and improvement of the social environment; taking as a starting point a transdisciplinary, ethical and problematic perspective to achieve the formation of students with a critical sense, leaders committed to building society and promoters of peace.
TO FORM
In the students a participatory awareness, based on tolerance, justice, and equity as essential values for the construction of a citizen for the world.
MEET
Links with the past and cultures, so that students can locate themselves at different moments in time to analyze the diversity of points of view from which they have been understood and built in society.
TO RECOGNIZE
The importance of the plurality of the subject, society and the State committed to the defense and promotion of human rights, as a mechanism to build democratization and seek peace.

Participatory Democracy Projects
The Department of Social Sciences seeks to promote in students the construction of a comprehensive life plan, from the implementation of the Participatory Democracy Project, establishing the transformation of their environment based on the knowledge of their various realities (local, regional and national).
This exercise is evidenced in the thinking, feeling and work of the academic community, from the place they have as actors in the process of building a new reality, based on the apprehension of the principles of participation, citizenship, transparency and honesty.
